My mom is in town so I spent less time on these this week!

For one day we tried
to skip taking the reflux meds
but I am too scared

He has made great strides
in reaching and grabbing, plus
now he “talks” a lot

I have decided
the lovevery play gym sucks
he likes the real world

At the postpartum
discussion he slept soundly
off in his stroller

For Mothers’ Day we
built a shed for the stroller
and went on a walk

He has been waking
up only once in the night.

The dreaded late day
nap, the eternal question
to wake him or not

Instead of grandma
we now call my mom Lala

As I scroll through the internet, I save things I am interested in buying to a pinterest board called “shopping.” Then, I regularly return to that board and review whether those things still actually call to me, or if I was driven by a momentary urge. Here are some things I’ve saved recently!

• Cozy lighting improvements: desired for all around the apartment.

  • To solve for the dark corner blocked by our L-shaped couch: these neon tubes might be interesting to hang vertically? Or maybe something that calls less attention to itself?
  • Just a nice table lamp. Sadly I don’t think we have a surface to hold this.
  • This giraffe light is very cute, yeah???

• To add whimsy and art: new botanical print from Chicago artist Joseph Kraft.

• To upgrade my work-from-home set-up in anticipation of the end of my parental leave: a portable second monitor. I currently have an old-style monitor that works fine - but something portable like this would let me have a couple of different work stations around the apartment.

• To rest my weary head: As a stomach/side sleeper extremely dissatisfied with my current pillow array, I’m intrigued about the unique shape of this one.

• To step up our dining experience: new Muji silverware. I always like spoons with bowls that are more rounded than oval. To be honest, though, this is a bit more than I’m willing to pay right now.
